Step one

  • Improve your English language and study skills at the International Study Centre.
  • Continue your studies at Centre for Arts and Technology and earn your Diploma.
  • Complete your Diploma and either continue your studies to Advanced Diploma or Bachelor's level in 8-20 months at a partner public college, or return to your home country.


Step two

Graduate from a partner public college and apply for your 1-3 year Post Graduate Work Permit to work full time.


Step three

Apply for permanent residency in Canada.

Programs for International Students

English for Academic Purposes Program

Focusing on your academic English language proficiency, this program also covers the skills needed for success in your Diploma, degree and career. Classes include reading, writing, listening/speaking, academic success and test-taking strategies. You will study for 12 or 24 weeks depending on your IELTS score (or equivalent).

The English for Academic Purposes Program will also help you to adjust to your new life in Canada. Staff will be able to advise you on your pathway and any questions you have about day-to-day life.


You will study your Diploma for 12-24 months, during which time you will be able to apply for a work permit and find work. Your classes will be scheduled so you can fit work in around them.

The Diploma will be focused on practical skills so you’ll gain lots of experience for your future role. You can choose to progress to one of our partner public colleges to complete your Bachelor's degree.

Prep Plus

If you would like to apply for a Work Permit from the first day of your English for Academic Purposes program, you can choose one of Centre for Arts & Technology’s Prep Plus programs which combine the most popular diploma programs with the 12 week IEP-200 program.

24-week English for Academic Purposes Program (CCEAP) includes courses IEP-100: 5.0 IELTS
12-week English for Academic Purposes Program (CCEAP) includes IEP-200: 5.5 IELTS
Direct Entry: 6.0 IELTS
Prep Plus Programs (bundle IEP 200 + CAT program*): 5.5 IELTS

*Only offered for 2D Animation and Digital Art, 3D Animation for Game, Film and Visual Effects, Network Security Specialist, Advanced Interior Design and Technology, and Event and Promotions Management.

Studying in Greater Vancouver

The International Study Centre

Centre for Arts and Technology International Study Centre is located in Surrey, a suburb of Greater Vancouver in British Columbia. Central Vancouver is a 45 minute train ride away so you will have easy access to one of Canada’s largest and most diverse cities.


Vancouver is known around the world as both a popular tourist attraction and one of the best places to live due to its scenic views, mild climate, and friendly people. The city is also the third largest Film and TV production centre in North America, with more than 50 TV series filmed there each year.


Surrey is the neighbouring city and has a diverse community that speaks more than 100 different languages. It is surrounded by beautiful views from forest to shoreline so you can always find somewhere to get out of the city to reflect and relax.


Kelowna is the second campus location for Centre for Arts and Technology. Located in Okanagan Valley (a few hours from the ISC campus), it is also the base for Disney Interactive Studios, Bardel Entertainment and Yeti Farm Creative so you will be surrounded by industry experts during your studies.
